I am using Vista Ultimate with UAC (User Account Control) turned on and every time I go to favorites and select a web page it opens in a new window (I have tabs turned off) as opposed to opening in the same page, but if I turn UAC off IE7 returns to normal operation i.e opens web pages in the same window.

I have also in Internet Options/Advanced checked the tick box to "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts (When tab browsing is off) "

    Anybody any ideas?

With UAC turned on, in Internet Explorer go to Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab. In the "Browsing" section, make sure "Reuse window for launching shortcuts (when tabbed browsing is off)" is unchecked. Click OK.

If you've unchecked that before with UAC turned off, it's possible UAC enables it.
