    G'day

Every time I create a new mail message, I get a toolbar with a single button on it "Encypt Attachment ". My life would be happier if I never saw this again, how do I make it go away on permanent basis?

    Thanks

    Nice try, but no cigar.

Unchecking that box was the first thing I tried. However unchecking made absolutely no difference. The setting must be getting overwritten somewhere but I can't find out where.

    So, next suggestion please.

It's strange how some things can just annoy you and continue to annoy you to the point where you do something stupid, just to get rid of the annoyance.

I DO NOT WANT this message bar with one button saying "Encrypt Contents ", I have asked how to get rid of it in a couple of forums, I have paid "experts" to come to my house and try to fix it. No one seems to have even the slightest clue on how to get rid of it.

It would seem the only option is to get rid of Office 2003 and use some other software. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

For grins - put the check mark back in. Close Outlook - Reopen Outlook and remove the check mark. Maybe it'll remember the setting this time.

Do you have all the service packs and updates installed for Office?

This was something I hadn't tried before, so I was hopeful, but sadly it had no effect, the Encrypt Toolbar still came up.

Yes, I am running Office 2003 SP2 with all that updates and patched applied. I tried uninstalling office, reinstalling it, reapplying SP2 and doing an update. Then I went into Outlook | Tools | Customise | Toolbars and the Encrypt Attachment Toolbar is not listed (so far so good). So Close that box, click on New mail message, and there is the bloody Encrypt Attachment Toolbar again.

How do I get rid of it? I consider it a waste os space, a toolbar with only one button wastes my screen space, it is a "feature" I will never want to use, whay can't I disable or remove it?

Next weekend I will either be installing Linux or buying a Mac - both seem extreme but this toolbar thing is one of two things in Outlook that are pissing me off, major time.

    Happy, happy, joy, joy

    G'day

    SUCCESS !!!!

The **** toolbar is gone. Whilst it was not listed as an addin, in fact there was no reference to it all, the toolbar was being put the by the Acer eDataSecurity Management software that was pre-loaded on my Acer system.

One uninstall later and the toolbar is gone.

Now to my next problem .......

    Cheers
