Can anyone please help ... for some reason Outlook 2007 doesnt show pictures/graphics in emails anymore .. they are replaced by red cross icons. I dont seem to find the option anywhere where I can enable to show graphics in emails (instead of the red cross place holders) ... any advice?

    G'day

I have the same (or a similar) problem in Outlook 2003: SP2

I can send an email, containing a graphic like a screen dump, the sender recieves it and cn see the graphic, then at some unknown point the graphic gets replaced by small box with a red diagonal cross.

How do I see the image again?

    Thanks

It's there for security reasons. To lessen the likelyhood of embedded malware.
You can turn it off if you must. But I prefer to right click where the picture should be and select download picture.
I'm not in front of Outlook 2007 at the mo, but in 2003 go to Tools|Options|Security and then click on Change Automatic Download Settings... Make your required changes.

    G'day

Thanks for trying to help, but we have not found the solution for my problem yet. When I right click and select download picture - the picture does not get downloaded nor does it "re-appear ", all I see is the little red cross.

I use Outlook 2003. When I go to Tools | Options | Security | Change Automatic Download Settings , neither option box is selected.

I get these silly red crosses appearing in the mail that I send, as well as the mail that I receive. I really do want to get back the pictures of my nephews that my brother sent me. Plus I have lost the pictures that I sent to other people.

    Cheers

Instead of pasting into the body of the mail, save your screen dumps as a jpeg with MS paint...Then while typing the mail, click "Insert Picture. "
