I've reinstalled Win 98 SE. Every function of Win 98 SE OS works fine with the exception of IE and OE 6. All of the files are present according to SFC.

The Win 98 repair function given in MSINFO32 tool displays this error
message: "Internet Explorer 5 cauld not be repaired. Please run Setup again to reinstall all componets ". The Control Panel says I have IE and OE 6. IE window loads as 5 and OE loads at 6.

Cannot access a web page with IE without getting error message that reads: "Internet Explorer cannot open the internet site http://www.msn.com. The application called an interface was marshalled for a different thread ". I can't find an explanation of this error message.

Microsoft Internet and Outlook Express does not work in Win 98 SE. I have other browsers that I use and they work fine and without errors. Can I disable IE and OE in Win 98, if so how? Formatting the disk is not an option.

I have some experience with Win 98 but seeking help from more advanced users of Win 98 for this issue.

Scroll about halfway down this page and see if any of it seems to be applicable?
