Just installed W2kPro on a new machine. Gives a black screen with the option to boot to W2KPro or Windows.

Never want to boot to Windoz....so how do I ensure that screen nevers displays.

Thanks in advance for your help

    Modify c:\boot.ini so that timeout=0

If you have options in your boot.ini file for 2K and 2K-VGA (sorta like safe mode for 2K) and the timeout set at 0, you are stuck if you later need to boot to 2K-VGA (which you normally try if there is a problem getting the normal system to run at all).

You should be able to just remove the windows entry you no longer want to see and maybe set the timeout short (2-3 seconds or something) so you retain both 2K options. As long as the normal 2K is the default, it will start up fine with just the short delay.

You can go to sys prop, advanced, startup & recovery. Put 2k in, then set time. busterb

You could also just press F8 when the startup is happening to get to the diags options
