My periodic internet connection loss has been traced to Sygate. I was surfing tonight, then all of a sudden, my connection went away. I changed Sygate to "Allow All," and my internet came back. Closing Sygate and restarting did not help. As I checked the Traffic Log, I noticed that Sygate was blocking all traffic even though it was set to Normal. I rebooted and everything was back to normal. As I played with the Sygate settings, I noticed that when I set it to "Block All," the traffic log showed (under the last column labeled Rule) GUI%GUICONFIG#SRULE#BLOCKALL. However, when I was in a locked up state, the Rule column simply stated "Block_all. " What's going on?

    Hello fieldtech,

Check to see whether the Block All option is set in Screen Saver mode:

Tools > Options > General tab > Screensaver Mode.

    Hi fieldtech,

Its been awhile since I've used Sygate - replaced it when Symantec did the company in.

The screen option idea was all I remembered about this issue.

You could uninstall/re install if you haven't already :)

The Sygate forums are archived and still accessable here: http://forums.sygate.com/vb/

    Regards - Charles
