At the top of the Internet Explorer V.7 browser page, the text is now boxes.
It's the blue bar showing the title of the page being displayed.

Wish I could explain it better.

It's the kind of characters that are displayed when the wrong editor is used. Like text that was written using a older version then opened with a newer word version.

    thanks for any help,

    Dennis

    trm840 - Welcome to the Board :)

A series of squares? That would indicate that an unknown font/language is being used.

Try changing the font under Tools > Internet Options > Fonts on the General tab. You may have a corrupted font file.

    Thanks Pete,

I tried changing the font on this machine and nothing seemed to happen.
I closed the window and reopened it. still nothing.

I went to Outlook Express/ options/ Font/ and broused the fonts, what has replaced the text in Internet Explorer, the blue bar, looks like [ MV Boli ] Font

OK - I think I have the picture now .....

The font used in the Title Bar is controlled via Display Properties > Appearance > Active/Inactive Title Bar - try a temporary change here.

Do you see the same 'font' in all Title Bars - Windows Explorer, Word, ....?

Although MV Boli is installed in my fonts folder it is not an option offered here - for obvious reasons :)

How to change Font in the Internt Explorer Title Bar

In Control Panel/ click Display or right click desktop/ Properties/ click Appearance Tab/ Advanced/ click Item: [-----] pull down button/ scroll to Active Title Bar/ choose font to change/ click ok

    This worked perfect

    Thanks for the help Pete

I have another problem that's been occurring as long as I can remember.
but I should post it to the correct group, don't want to get in trouble.

My OS doesn't remember the checked boxes to allow, open reoccurring events, such as remember me in yahoo sign in. Remember Allow / Deny in zone alarm.
which group would be correct to post this question in?

I figured out how to change the Font, it works on my notebook.

My friend still has the squares after following your instructions. It may be on select pages, I'll have to check the next time I there.

    thanks again Pete,
