    From an early post
I may be wild guessing here but:

I was just going over this and I do not think ANYTHING will be right until one of the Windows folders is deleted and then a re-install done and making sure that the re-instaall goes into the proper folder.

    Hi Anne,

What does the WINNT folder contain? And how big is it?

Can you do the following, after unhiding System protected files, find a System file called Boot.ini. Double click on it, opens with Notepad and post it here.

    Hi BB,

    A number points:

    No dual boot menu.

This is not an upgrade over a 9X system with which you're familiar with :) and I'm not either. I'll try to call attention to this issue of someone who is.

    Regards - Charles

    Thank you Charles.

I guess that learning from hands on, bad language making mistakes pays off.

It's the windows folder from either the win2k install or else the XP install. More than likely 2k. That's all I'm going to say about this here to avoid any confusion. My guess is that it'll get straightened out in the other thread where Dude is helping.

He more than capable and I'm sure once they are done there, the problem mentioned in this thread will be gone too.

Win2k professional does not have a Windows folder, it's called WINNT, not Windows. The WINNT folder on the laptop is a carryover from the upgrade to XP. Do NOT delete it!
