Hi, I am in as adminstrator on my Windows 2000 Pro. Computer but I cannot get the radial button to stay on a setting within
    Explorer
    Tools
    Folder Options
    View

    Show Hidden files and folders.
I check the box but when I exit out and come back
it is unchecked. Both Do not show Hidden files and Show Hidden files. They will not stay selected!!!! Gonna drive me crazy!!!
Whats up wit that? THanks a mill!!!!!!!

Odd behaviour for Win2k (9x does this kind of thing all the time)

I know its an insulting question but have you swept for viruses with an up do date checker ?

Well - if it isn't a virus then something else is causing registry modifications not to hold. Suggestions:

    1. Get pagefiledefrag (free) from www.sysinternals.com and run it. Set to degrag all at next boot.

    2. Open a DOS window and do
chkdsk /f and tell it you want to have it run at next boot.

    3. Reboot and try again. If it holds this time, great. If not you might want to try some direct registry modifications.

Under both HKLM and HKCU, look in software\microsoft\windows\current version\explorer\advanced

You will see several keys/values that control the behavior.
