By default you'll get that message after you opened OE 100 times. Once you do compact the folders, the counter gets reset so it shouldn't pop up again until you've opened and close OE 100 times again.

There is no setting that I know of that turns it off. However, if you compact them manually the counter gets reset. So, compact them every once in a while and you won't get the message. To manually compact them, first click file>work offline and then file>folder>compact all folders. When you're done, don't forget to uncheck the work offline thing.

If you don't want to do that, and if you are familiar with Regedit, you can edit the registry manually every once in a while to reset the counter. To do this, in Regedit, go to the following key.
    Code:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{8C776BF1-1F3B-4907-AA4D-7339C5A69202}\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express\5.0
I don't think that long series of letters and numbers between identities and software is the same for everyone but there's only one key there with a big long number like that so that would be the one you want. Look in the right pane for a value named Compact Check Count. Changing the data for it to a zero will reset it the counter. Once you've done this, you can add the 5.0 key to the favorites in the registry editor so it's easy to get at the next time you want to do this.

And, if you do this, be sure to back the key up first. Just in case.

You can also do a search for "compact check count" and you will be taken to the right spot in the registry.
