Asked this in another forum but no replies yet.

Just installed SM 1.1.1 and working great except when I left click on an
link within an email nothing happens. If I center click on it it opens
in the web page. I can left click on links in the browser and things
work OK. I do have tabbrowser installed but have never had any trouble
with it. I can live with it but thought it may be a bug. Anyone else
    have a problem with it?

    Hi quickshot,

I don't use Seamonkey, but I've had the same problem with TB, occasionally, and this is what I've come up with (#1 being the most likely answer):
    1. If FF won't open from links in TB messages, check the Registry at
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\http\shell\open\command. If there is no
    DEFAULT string, create one: <path to>\firefox.exe -url "%1 ".

    2. If FF thinks it's the default browser, but still won't open from TB links, Start > Run type firefox.exe -silent -nosplash -setDefaultBrowser.

    3. If the FF Profile Manager opens, delete the applicable profile and create a new one using the same profile folder.
Substitute seamonkey.exe for firefox.exe and see if it fixes your problem (which might also be caused by your Tabbrowser button settings).

    HTH.

I, just, installed SM1.1.1, downloaded from the mozilla.com website. As recommended, I uninstalled, first, 1.1. I did not remove the directory, as one option recommended. I have no problem.

    Hi quickshot,

The Registry string in your screenshot looks OK, so I don't know what's causing the problem. Mouse button settings are generally global, so clicking your LMB on a link should open the page.

Because fixing the Registry string has always worked for me, I'm afraid I'm out of ideas. Hopefully, someone else can help.

    Good luck!

    quickshot,

What are your settings in Tabbed Browsing:
Edit | Preferences | Navigator | Tabbed Browsing

Could these settings conflict with the Tabbrowser extension? Try disabling the extension and see if the problem persists.

Whenever in doubt, disable extentions. If they would not tell me that there are security fixes, I would say that the main reason for updates is to mess up extentions.:) That is obvious, and one has to take it in stride, but it is a pain.
That's why I have Mr Tech Local Install.
One example is the QuickReply extention which worked in TB1.5.0.9, but did not in TB1.5.0.10, unless made compatible.
I really did not check how well this compatibility work in 1.5.0.10, because I know that the same extention will work in the 2.0pre nightly, after made compatible, but none of the addresses (from:) are visible.

Yes, I have the Mr Tech Local Install as well and I realize there are many extension that do not work with new update installs. I try not to use any extension that are not hacked to work with a particular version [most by Philip Chee]
Thanks for looking at any solution for me, I can live with the situation but just thought others were affected also.

    quickshot,

I don't see any problem with your Tabbed Browsing settings.

Another question which I have is how was SM1.1.1 installed. Was 1.1 uninstalled first? This is recommended, and I uninstalled 1.1, and then installed 1.1.1. I have a handful of extentions, and none seem to be a problem.
My extentions are, beside Mr Tech Local Install, and the uninstaller extention, ForecastFox, FoxyTunes, MediaPlayerConnectivity and Roboform.

I installed SM 1.1.1 right over SM 1.1 as suggested on one Seamonkey forum. I have tabbrowser, Mr Local Install, forecastfox, colortabs, spell checker,Enigmail,MediaPlayerConnectivity,Create tinyurl, googlebar, preference bar, contex menu search, view source with,FireFTP, Xsidebar, save as image, flag fox and launchy. Most were downloaded from:
    http://tinyurl.com/q9n88 or http://tinyurl.com/2r8mev
Also extension installer and extension api

The mozilla.com says that each previous version should be uninstalled, and then the new one installed. I have seen a number of problem since way back when installation on top was done. I suggest that you uninstall what you have, and then reinstall. In fact, I would look at the Add/Remove for a v.1.1 still there.
Nothing will be lost this way. I used the same profile, and, everything was cool.
I did the same with 1.0.7, which I uninstalled, and then installed 1.0.8.

On the Mozilla Seamonkey forum one of the developers said that since SM1.0 it was not necessary to uninstall the previous version as the versions before 1.0 did not clear the GRE file but since Version 1.0 they did and files not needed were cleared. As far a multiple Seamonkey in the add/remove see attached.

What can I say? I am ok, and you are not. However, I did look at the newsgroup, and they say what you say. However, would it hurt to try the uninstall way?

Well what can I say, we don't have any snow and look at you! Ha Thanks for the research and all. I am OK with just middle clicking on the links and it opens in a new tab in my browser but thought it may have been a bug but it is probably the tabbrowser extension as I know lots of people have problems with it but it has always worked for me.
Hope you recover from the latest storm. I am staying home today and watching the Girls State Basketball.

    Thanks again,

I will watch the same games (I am in the Westside district, thus my nickname), otherwise everything is other than normal. I have not seen mail since Thursday, but trash was picked up. Considering what I get for mail, it is unfortunate.
Since I don't have the tabbrowser extention, I would suspect it, but disabling it should also do the job. Extentions are an instrument of the devil, you know.

    Westside,
They better get in gear, a little lax on protecting the ball on that last basket in the third quarter. Yes some of the extension are the pits.
