I had this problem awhile ago. And after searching all my settings I discovered some setting somewhere had turned my writer off? At least I think?

Don't get old, because now I have searched and searched for that setting again!! I'll be danged if I can find it again, It is not that I don't have a lot of brains "but I think that one is lost and the rest are out looking for it "

I believe that at that time. I came to the conclusion that one of my software programs went in an turned off the Disk Recognition?

Well anyway does anyone out there know what might be the problem?

    Thanks loonychoons

From your post can not determine just when your error come up. Is it before booting into OS or after ?
If after what OS are you using and just what disk is not installed ? What program are you running ? More specific info needs to be provided.

    Thanks Dytrog.

Dytrog, You must be physic. You hit the nail right on the head. Just as soon as I read your reply I knew that is where I was before.

Now I will try to find out what software is turning off " CD Recording enabled" as it is not me changing that setting.

    Thanks again loonychoons Lenny Chowns
