Error 123

I have recently installed a program on my lap top, it seemed to install ok, but when I try to run it, it say it cannot find the files or they do not exist. I tried to install a registry cleaner to maybe help, it starts to install and come up with this error... Setup was unable to create directory "C:\Documents and settings\???" Error123: The filename,directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect. In both of these instances, it comes up with the 3 ?'s. Why is it tryint to install into documents and settings with the ??? marks behind?

 

Could something have changed the name of the computer. or registered to. Not sure who it said it was registered to, but now it is registered to NAN with both N's back are backwards, maybe that is why I am getting the 3 ???. Is this possible or am I way off base. Not sure how to change it, and if I did and it didn't work, how would I get the backward N's back

As I am kinda new to this, you probably think this is a dumb question. What is hijack this? I have seen it many times in this forum, but to hesitant to ask. How do I go about giving this info to you? Thank you
