Hello I am a new user here..

I have been using Netscape 7.1 because I like that I can set up my mail using my server..I have recently experienced problems with Netscape hanging and not accessing web sites..Only remedy is to reinstall 7.1 over 7.1 and i lose nothing..

I was wondering if i could install 7.0 over 7.1 and not lose any mail settings or history or bookmarks..i am alittle scared to try fearing I will lose all my settings..Any help would be appreciated..Thankx

Your bookmarks and other settings are not part of the program, but, rather part of the Profile which is left alone after reinstallling. Never, never install on top. That's when problems occur. I would not recommend neither 7.0 nor 7.1, nor the final Netscape suite, which is 7.2. But that is another story.
You will be better off uninstalling via Add/Remove, and then reinstalling (as a word of caution, the design of Netscape changed after 7.02, and 7.1 has a bug which may surface as you reinstall).
