I reformatted an older PC. I used my 98SE boot disc & after loading 98SE, loaded my XP Home CD on top. I ended up with 2 partitions. (After I completely updated the XP OS with SP2, etc ! (I hope that makes sense...) C-Drive is the smaller partiton (98) & D-Drive has become "Local Disk" with XP, SP2, etc.

Q: How do I "combine" the 2 partitions, or at least eliminate the 98SE so that XP becomes the only OS?

    1. Leave it as is
    2. Start over
    3. Spend $75.00 USD and get Partition Magic

    I myself would choose #1.

Having more than 1 partition can be of BIG HELP to keep things separated.

OS on 1 and other stuff on the other. Keeping the Dpwnloaded stuf on a separate partition is also a great idea ( at least to me. )

I also keep various backups on other drives.

Hmmmm.... Ya think? I'm actually going to use it as a "temporary" PC to put my business programs on (Word, Quickbooks, etc.) so I can format my main PC which has an awful lot of #$#@^ on it & I just wanna redo it. (It's faster, has a bigger HD & more bells & whistles.)

I want to be able to access everything with no problems on the "lil" PC, but I've never worked with partitions. Anything special I should know?
