    Howdy there.
I have huge problem. This morning when I've started Skype, I saw on my monitr that it is impossible to record sounds. Why not? After opening "All programmes" -> "Amusement" -> "Volume control" I saw that there are no any sound device in my computer. I use Sound blaster Audigy 4 from almost one year and there was no any troubles. Thinking that my sound card is failed, I have uninstaled the card and its all software components geting back to integrated sound card on my matherboard Soltek SL75KAV. And... there are no any sound devices in my computer again! Is it possible to have all my sound cards failed in the same moment? Or mayby my WIN XP PRO SP2 doesn't like good music? Please, help me, if possible.

    Check your bios-
you may have uninstalled the audigy but have the onboard sound in the bios turned off so that the audigy would be the sound card of choice.
to install the integrated sound card you may well need the driver disk.
to install the audigy you will need the driver for the audigy.
Sound can be lots of fun to install > when it is up and running it is fine bit until then. There are a number of diffirent drivers for the audigy and only one of a few will work for your card.
Creative has online install service but lol.
You may have to pull the card out and look at the specific model number.
I have one friend with one oem model that i always assumed was something like a silver model and turned out on an inspection to be one above.
after instal check that your mute is not checked.
One of the advantages of buying a retail sound card rather than a deal oem is that you get a proper driver disk included.

Yes, I,ve chcked BIOS yesterday and it was "Disable" with Soun craft. I've turn it into "Enable" - with no results.
My Audigy model is SB0610, serial No: MASB06 1060 1008770L. I have a disc with drivers for it. And I have a disk with drivers for my matherboard. I go to install it, but befor this action I'll try to test my computer with any antivirus on line. Maybe I have any virus blocking system not recognised by my AVG antivirus and Ad-aware?

Remember, this is Polish version of WIN XP, so the names may be different as in other versions of the OS, or translation into Polish language may be invalid. I has translated this what can I see on my monitor from Polish into English language.

When I make test of my SB Audigy, I can see this:

"Windows multimedia test fail Wave out of device SB Audigy 4 [EC00] "
"Wave out of device: SB Audigy 4 [EC00] "
"Midi out device: SB Audigy 4 Synth. A [EC00] "

Is it possible I have no windows multimedia drivers? Few days ago all was OK.
I don't know why I can restore my system to this date, having check points and restore points.

After this action the machine is in this same state as in the moment before restarting. Computer knows this state without sound is good for him. I give up.

Well, I've reinstalled my OS and it works correctly now. The sound is excellent. But I have to make almost all setings. I love Mr. Gates and his products. I, sure, my next computer will be made by Apple.
