I am trying to uninstall Yahoo Messanger. It does not show up in the add/remove programs area of Control Panel. The only folder I see referencing Messanger is in a sub-folder of the yahoo program file under Program Files when I right hand click on Explore on the start button. I believe I can start to manually delete everything in the yahoo messanger folder but if I remember correctly this does not get rid of the registry stuff. If I delete everything in yahoo messanger and then run Norton One Button Clean-up will this delete the registry stuff for Messanger? Is there a better way to get rid of Yahoo Messanger? I am running XP Home Edition. Thanks.

    yahoo

do search see what you find. And in IE - tools - toolbars- uncheck any toolbars you don't want. i dont think that will disable it.

    Hello bslund.

The Add/Remove applet uses a program's Uninstall program, should be located in it's Progam Files folder. If its there, double click on that and that'll accomplish the same thing.

If not there, try re installing to get it back. If that works, that's better than trying to uninstall by removing files.

Deleting/reg cleaners is a last resort.

    Regards - Charles

    it worked

Charlesvar-Your suggestion worked. I was looking for the uninstaller in the messanger program file. The uninstaller applet was actually in the yahoo program file. The applet allows you to select which parts of the yahoo program file a user wants to uninstall. Thanks for your help.

    Hi visionof,

Depends on how far back Yahoo Messenger was installed and what else was installed between then and now which also would get rolled back.

    Regards - Charles
