I have Windows XP Media Center edition 2002.

My problem is that recently whenever I leave the screen dormant for a while, the screen for some reason reverts to a low-res 800 x 600 setting. When I try to reset the resolution using Properties--Settings, the icons are so big that the "Apply" button falls off the screen.

So I've resorted to going into Graphics Properties, and rotating the screen 90 degrees in order to simply click on the Apply button. Very annoying.

I'd appreciate any advice as to how to fix this weird bug!

    Thanks in advance

Hi patmk. Welcome to the board.

Are you using a screen saver? If so, perhaps it's set to run at 800X600 and for some reason or another it doesn't reset the resolution when it exits.

If you are using one, see if there are any settings that you can change for it. If not, either try changing screen savers or turn it off completely to see if it could be the cause.
