Hi, santosh024. Welcome to Windows BBS! :)

You'll find several Google search results on rename folder con.

The word "con" is part of an internal dos command, it is short for CONsole. An example
    copy con c:\test.txt
After this command is entered, the normal dos prompt disappears, as the Command Processor is ready to take what is entered at the console (keyboard), and then write into a file named c:\test.txt. Pressing Enter (carriage return) at the end of each line starts a new line. When CTRL+Z is used, the file is then written, you get a "1 file(s) written" or something to that affect as a confirmation. CTRL+C just ends it with nothing done.
Or another way to explain the command:
COPY what is entered at the CONsole and write into a file named test.txt into the root of the drive (C:\).
It has been awhile since I had to resort to using such a crude text editing method, but it has helped me out when I was stuck between a rock and a hard place. You can't jump back to the previous line if there is a mistake, gotta start all over.
The reason it is not allowed is because it already has a use in the operating system (even though you don't and may never use it), and computer code does not like to have conflicts. Yes or no, not a maybe.
