    (1) Mouse, with red light underneath and wire connection to computer, will jump all over when moved sometimes. Also scrolling wheel wont work. Also when I left click on something, such as the blue bar to the right of this window, to go up or down, pointer goes all over the place. To get it to do what I want, necessary very quickly to left click from that bluish bar to anywhere on the window, and then move it to desired place.
    (2) Wont copy. Normally, that is, let us say that a page in Windows 2003 is to be moved, or a line, or a word, or whatever. I highlight it, click ctrl + C, and then move pointer to desired place to install the copy, and press ctrl + V. Presto! If I did (in the old days I mean) ctrl +X, material leaves old place entirely and appears where it is wanted. Now none of all that works at all. Unable to copy and/or move anything.
    (3) Pointer constantly quivers/shivers/vibrates and wont hold still. This happens in all programs and all pages.
    (4) Deleting. If I just want to get rid of something, I always used to highlight it, press delete or backspace and presto! gone. Now, nothing whatever happens.
Should have mentioned: Dell Dimension 3000 2 years and 2 months old. Plenty of memory, plenty of speed and plenty of open hard drive. Windows XP with SP2. Automatic upgrades. IE7. OE6. Office 2003. Mostly works ok. McAfee 2007 and Spybot Searth and Destroy, both kept up to date. Backup online with Mozy.
    Thanks. ALK

1st suggestion: get a new mouse. Won't break the bank, & you'll quickly know if its a simple H/W problem (mouse), or something else.
