Physically moving a wireless network

    Hi Everyone,

    I have a HP laptop that is wirelessly connected to a wireless G broadband router that is connected to an AT&T broadband modem. This allows me to us my laptop anywhere in my home. The network is secure and firewalled. I will be staying at my brother's house for a few days and was considering taking my wireless router and laptop over so I can get some work done while I'm there. He also has AT&T with a broadband modem for his isp, and it is connected to a desktop. Other than unplugging the ethernet cable from his computer and plugging in my router, I can't think of anything else preventing me from getting online. Or does the actual physical location of the router, or not using the exact same isp modem require a different network configuration? Any ideas or answers would be greatly appreciated, as I am scheduled to be at his house on Thursday. Thanks in advance.

    It will work.
    At brother's:
    1. power down all: comp, modem, laptop
    2. connect all devices w/ wifi router between modem & desktop.
    3. power on the modem.
    4. power on the router
    5. power on the comps

    The modem must be powered off and when powered on it will "grab" the mac address of the router and "think" the router is the computer it should connect to. Reverse when leaving.
