    Hi

this my first time actually posting something on windows BBS and it has helped me in the past when I have had some issues. It's really helpful.

right now I'm having a problem with the graphics on my computer. when I turn it on, the Windows Xp screen is red, and all of my backgrounds and pictures have red specks on them and are distorted.when I'm online their is blue in toolbars. I don't know what is causing this problem or how to fix it.there are no error messages only what is described above.

Hi, aleciagt. Welcome to Windows BBS! :)

Is your computer monitor part of a desktop system or is it a laptop?

If your monitor is separate from the rest of your computer (as in a desktop system), perhaps the cable is loosely connected. Check the connections.

If that doesn't solve your problem, try connecting the monitor to another computer. If the problem persists, then I suspect your monitor is faulty. If the problem does not occur when the monitor is connected to another computer, then I suspect you may have a setting in your computer that is causing the problem. (Perhaps the "refresh rate" you currently have set in your computer is not compatible with your monitor, for example.)

Check your monitor's manual to see what the recommended settings are and verify your computer is using those settings. You can adjust monitor settings (such as refresh rate, maximum colors, etc.) by right-clicking on a blank area of your desktop and selecting "Properties ". The settings of interest are under the "Settings" tab of the Display Properties window. The refresh rate can be checked/changed via the "Advanced" button. (On my computer, the "Screen refresh rate" settings are under the "Monitor" tab after clicking on the "Advanced" button.)

Please let us know what you discover.
