I down loaded and installed MaxCrypt Security Suite and it ran fine until I bought a new computer with Norton Symatic 2006 at which time it failed to work and I got the following warning in Symatics Resource protector alerts:

    -----------------------------------------------

    Event Details:
    Time: 1/22/2007 6:45:56 PM
    Actor: C:\PROGRAM FILES\MAXCRYPT2\SYSSRVC.EXE (PID=1260)
    Target: c:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\Security Console\NSCSRVCE.EXE
    Action: Unauthorized access
    Reaction: Unauthorized access stopped

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

I have tried to look this up on Nortons web page with out success.

What does it mean and how can I correct.

I like the MaxCrypt program and would like to use it.

I emailed maxCrypt support and they failed to respond.

    Hello Coleman,

Your problem is with, I think, Symantec's "System Resource Protection ".

Read thru this thread on pointers on how to deal with it:
    http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?t=59801

While the thread is about XP's SR, the issue is how processes are dealt with by Symantec.

    Regards - Charles

    Problem Solved-Sort of

I sent an email to Symantics and to MaxCrypt and suggested that the two of them work it out and leave the user's out of the problem.

I then removed MaxCrypt and down loaded a free copy of TruCrypt.

    Works fine.

    No conflict.

MaxCrypt did give me a refund.
