    BLESS EVERYONE,
    WHY IS IT THAT I GET THIS WORK OFFLINE MESSAGE EVERYTIME I BOOT UP ON THE NET? THE MESSAGE SAYS "YOUR COMPUTER HAS NOT FOUND A CONNECTION" THEN GIVES THE OPTION TO WORK OFFLINE OR TRY AGAIN.

    AND CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO REMOVE IE 6.0?

    GOD BLESS THOSE THAT HELP OTHERS.........

    Typing in capitals on the internet is considered to be shouting and may upset some people. Use your capslock key.

    You may have your settings wrong in your Tools/Internet Options/Connections section on your browser. You do not say if you are connecting through a lan or with a cable modem or an ordinary modem. Check those settings and correct if necessary.

    Hi rev son & welcome to WindowsBBS. This will remove IE 6.0 for you. Just be sure you want to and read everything before you do. :eek: Then you can download and/or reinstall the IE version of your choice

    HTH

    My apology

    Sorry for the big caps and if I sound like I was hollering, please excuse me. I'm just a little frustrated with this computer and the internet thing. Humbug, thanks for clearing that up for me, about the CAPS. And thanks Indutch for the IE 6.0 remover, that done the trick. But I still get this "Work Offline-Try Again" message box. Lord knows it's irritating. Humbug I am using DSL for a connection and I looked in the options and it's set at Never Dial a Connection and the Auto Detect Settings is unchecked. Do you think it's from the DSL Company? I deleted 6.0 and reinstalled the 5.5 IE. Seem like it's even slower than before.
    If you can,...Please Help

    Blessed are the ones who bless others........

    You still havn't clarified "LAN" or "Cable Modem ", and while your at it your service provider may also be helpful. Sometimes the homesite for such will have support_tshoot links to common problems such as this that offer walk thrus for settings that you may need to double check.

    ==In the mean time=======
    I happen to have a link reference to dsl offline errors:
    IE starts and stays offline / IE offline message when using DSL/Cable. These may or may not apply to your problem, but a look see can't hurt.

    =========
    Q: MSIE Work Offline / Try Again
    A: Some software installs, for example Enternet, can make MSIE lose knowledge that you are connected full time to the Internet.

    Solution 1 .. Try Repair:
    Go to control panel, add/remove programs, find explorer 5.5, highlight that and click REPAIR. After the reboot, it should be fixed.

    Solution 2 .. Quit any PPPoE service (Enternet Access Manager/WINPoet) etc first.
    Look in the registry
    Using regedit, find the folder:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WebCheck
    And check that these two *String* keys are set to auto:
    "LoadSens "= "auto"
    "LoadLCE "= "auto"
    Create them if necessary!

    NOTE*Mine are set to "YES" and I have no problem, but the link suggests "auto ". Don't know why.... but as always before electing to try any registry changes, backup any hkeys by exporting before making changes or be aware of how to restore the registry to a backup that predates the changes you may have made that prove problematic or useless [meaning, the change does not effect or change the current state or problem].
