I have discovered that on my AMD Athlon 1900+ CPU the outer row of 3 Pins at the 45º corner are slightly bent towards the next row of pins not enough to touch them.
The bend is about 25 % down from the top of the pin.I just wonder if this would be a job for the Mechanical Pencil (without the lead) or if any of the experts here have some better and safer way of straightening them 3 pins.
    Regards

I've done it once with a pair of long nosed pliers (fine tipped). Use a magnifying glass. Take as long as it takes to get them "perfectly" straight. Compare the pins to the unbent adjacent pins. Look down the rows. Bend slowly so that it does not bruise/fatigue the metal.

Be careful of your electrostatics, ground yourself.

I've never run into that but how about a standard dinner setting knife? Not a steak knife but one you butter your bread with. Lay it in the row opening and tilt it in the direction to straighten the pins. It wouldn't give you alot of bending power but maybe that's a good thing.

As Matt implied, try to make one "pin adjustment" per pin instead of several to avoid metal fatigue.
