    Help!
I have an ethernet connection from my laptop to my desktop both running xp home. Everything has been fine for a year or so. Just installed Norton internet security and anti-virus. I have a yellow exclamation triangle on my network connection icon. I can no longer access the internet from my laptop or share files. The status is: "limited or no connectivity ".

    Tried:-

-the repair option, this resulted in this message: "windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action cannot be completed: renewing your IP address "

-using a different network card (desktop pc)

-refreshing the IP address in the command prompt

-turning off the anti-virus software on both pc's

-runnining network wizard on both pc's

-to add network conection in Norton

-messing with network settings in 'network connection'

Still no joy, I may have not done the above correctly. I may have made things worse by messing with the settings.

Please help, if anyone knows how to help me get my small home network back on-line that would be great, then maybe I can sleep again!

    Cheers
    John

    Hi John!

To me the obvious answer would be to un-install Norton Internet Security.

Then contact their support people for some relief.
