If I create an autoshape in Ms Word (an arrow) and fill its color to blue, then i copy it and paste it as a new image in Paint Shop Pro, this autoshape gets a white background as well ... is there a way in which i can get only the shape and now backgrounds ?

    Thanks

    Paste the image in psp.
Change the bg color to white on the color palatte.
    Copy image.
rt click on any second image and select "paste as transparent selection ".

That's how I do it in psp7 at least.

thx for your reply ... i did what you suggested to me, however, when i closed and re-opened the new pasted image, i still got the white background behind the image. Here are the steps which i did:

Copied the item from Ms Word -> Opened PSP 8 -> Pasted as new image -> changed background to white -> copied image -> created new image with same image size and pasted as transparent selection, saved the image , closed and re-open.

Is there anything which i missed ?

    Thanks

    Did it work.
Remember, you cannot have an image with no background, all images have a background layer. You can create a new image in psp that begins with a transparent background, but it will get a colored background as soon as you save it in a format other than .psp.
