    Hi siktirlan and welcome!

It would be helpful if you could post the entire error message since it may indicate some specific module.

This problem can be caused by a virus so be sure your drive is clean before looking for troubles elsewhere.

If you are sure the drive is free of infectors, run sfc /scannow and pray. I have little faith in it but we have to do it out of respect.

Then if you still have the problem, download this Context Menu Editor. Read the readme file with it. Basically what it can do is disable any context menu items that may be causing your trouble. The plan of attack should be to disable all non-MicroSoft Windows items. You can select from the view menu to have them highlighted for easy locating. Just right click and select disable for each one. Then close out the program and reboot the computer. This is non-destructive testing since you can open the editor and turn these items back on as easy as you turned them off. If disabling them cures the problem, then start turning them back on incrementally until you hit the culprit.

    HTH

Click on START > RUN > type SFC /SCANNOW and press enter. You will need to have your XP install CD ready to insert when asked. It will take several minutes to complete the run so be patient. It will not notify you of any changes it has make, it simply goes away with no message when it finishes. Reboot and see if it helped. If not, do the context menu thing. I can't guide you any better than the I have already offered. The readme file that comes with the software covers it much better than I could ad-lib it. It's safe to use so go for it.

    Good luck.
