    Hello,

I have a " problem " with my video card. It's a WinFast 256 DDR with 32 Ram. In powerstrip or other proggy's, memory speed is shown as 279 Mhz. In fact this should be 300 if I am not wrong. I just chaged my video card 4 days ago ( I had a TNT 2 Ultra ). Is there any posibility tu bring the frecq. of the memory at 300 which is the default value ? How do I do this ?

Can anyone tell me if adjusting the speed of the memory is posibble somehow ?
Is this a hardware problem ( a serious one ) or what else ?
    Where can I find the results for a WinFast 256 DDR scored in 3d mark 2000 & 2001 ?

I don't think you have a "problem" per se. It's just one of those little "gotchas" that we all have to put up with. They use a different yardstick than we do.

In order to save yourself a lot of grief in the future, just deduct 25% from any number given by any manufacturer and you'll be in the ball park. They have a tendancy to stretch the truth, or haven't you been paying attention to the stock market lately?

The politicians are getting ready to correct all that, I just hope they do a better job at it than they have with anything else in the past. Perhaps it's a good time to think about some kind of fall-out shelter.

O.K. I understood what you said. Please tell me in your opinion, if in 3dmark 2000 & 2001 S.E will be a big difference in points, I mean between a model with 120 / 300 and my model with 120 / 279.
    My system is: Celeron 2-900, 256 SDRAM, 40 Gb ATA-4, WinFast 256 DDR 120 / 279, Gigabyte 6-OXT.

    In 3d mark 2000 I have: 4130 points

    In 3d mark 2001 S.E I have: 2420 points

So, what do you think ? And if possible try to appreciate a difference of 700, 800 points or more...
