    Hi,

I wanted to try these programs, so I did. What has resulted has me worried.

Nod32 gave me many cannot create...followed by long path....file locked (4)... messages. I don't have a clue what this means and I deleted everything from my computer. Does this mean that Nod32 locked my files???? It never completed scan. Is this normal for NOD?

I then tried ClamWin and as it scanned I got many ERRORS, but this one found a Trojan.Bifrose-495 in opera.exe. What can be the cause of these errors? It also completed the scan.

When I scan with Norton, it scans completely and comes up clean.

Today, I got a message on bootup that my system configuration has been changed to Selective Startup and to change it to Normal startup. I don't know what caused this. The only thing I did was go to msconfig. and change ClamWin from Startup Tab.

Please help, as I am considering restoring to my last Ghost Image of Dec 27, 2006. I will lose a lot of data. TIA

I did a quick search on ClamWin and discovered that it gives a false positive on the Trojan.Bifrose-495. So, don't worry about it.

As for the Selective StartUp this was brought about by your using msconfig. Again, nothing to be worried about.

    Hello Ann

I completely agree with Charles (good thing, eh Charles!). :) I also have NOD32 and there are generally several files that are locked by the operating system and that it cannot scan. It doesn't really concern me and it shouldn't. However, NOD32 has always finished a scan and the fact that it is not finishing a scan seems to indicate that something is not quite right. Why not try the Wilders Security Forum which has a special section for NOD32 users. It's found here:

    Hi Ann,

Could you clarify what you deleted?

    Regards - Charles
