Hi and welcome to WindowsBBS forums.

I'm doing some research into this and either I will return or another HijackThis! specialist shall, Blender, please be patient.

This is an intriguing one, with an odd 'tell', very obvious, but new.

    Hi and welcome.
I'm new here too but not new to HJT. :)

TeMerc asked me to have a look-see and because I am also interested in a copy of a couple files; here I am.
I see you online now so I'll drop a quick note.
Will be back very shortly with additional instructions.

Can you upload these 2 files:

    C:\WINDOWS\nvchost.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\winlogon.exe

    To this site:

    http://www.uploadmalware.com

In username section put your user name from here.
In "URL where requested" put link to this thread.

Copy/paste the above file paths in # 1 & 2 in submit section.

Comments section you can say I asked for those files.
These files are submitted to many AV companies for better detection.

Finally hit "submit" to upload the files.
I may ask for more once I see a couple other logs.

    A note about Goldun varients.
Most do have the ability to log keystrokes.
This means if you do anything sensitive online such as banking, credit card purchases, manage paypal accounts, ebay, etc there is a good chance your passwords and other private info has been stolen.
It is advised you use a clean computer to change your passwords to sensitive sites including email accounts.
If you do online banking it would be a good idea to contact these companies so they can watch your accounts for suspicious activity.

    Back shortly

    Hi

    Me again...

I would like to see a couple other logs to see if there are other files involved besides the ones showing in your current log.

Please post a complete startuplist log:

    Open Hijackthis
Click "Open misc tools section "
Check the following 2 options beside "generate startuplist log ":

    "list also minor sections(full) "
    "list empty sections (complete) "

Hit generate startuplist log and OK.

    Post results.

    Next:

    1. Download this file and save it to c:\ :

    http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/combofix.exe
    http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/combofix.exe

    2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
You will temporarily lose desktop while scan is running. Once scan is done desktop will return to normal.
    3. When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply

    Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

Check please both logs did get posted. I am not sure of how much text can be posted in one reply without getting cut off.
use a couple replies if needed.

    Thanks!

    Hi

    Ok; I'll check back tomorrow.

As for reasoning on asking for those files...
To submit them to more anti-virus companies for better detection and hopefully for more effective removal in the future.

    Regards,

    Blender

    Hi

Once you post the logs I asked for in my previous thread I should have enough information to get on with removal.
