Hello Folks - First time poster here!

During boot-up my system seems to sense a file system error and gives me a checking file system message to run chkdsk. When I run chkdsk I receive the following Stop Error Message:

    Stop: 0x0000007E (0xc0000005, 0xf7810c27,0xf8985840, 0xf898553c)

    tbc.sys - address f7810c27 base at f77f8000
    date stamp 3b8d7887

Not sure what to do about this. Any help on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

    System info:
    Dell Dimension 8200 - Bios A03
    Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.20GHz
Windows XP Ver. 5.1.2600 SP 2.0
    Memory: 512 MB
    HD: 120Gb

    Thanks.

What happens when you skip the disk checking? Does the pc run ok?

Did you make ANY type of change prior to this starting?

When I skip the disk checking the PC boots sucessfully and runs fine.

No, I didn't make any specific changes that I know of.

Another thing I didn't mention in my previous post is that I cannot run the disk fragmentor successfully because it also forces me to the disk checking and gives me the same error message regarding tbcpud.sys.

    Charles,

Thanks for the input. Based on your research those links hit the nail right on the head. I'm going to download the recommended driver for the Turtle Beach card. BTW - thanks for identifying that the tbcpud.sys file was a Turtle Beach driver. I could not figure out what this file was.

It looks like this issue has been around for awhile. Not sure why it all of a sudden it started showing up on my system. Oh well, as long I can fix it I'm happy.

Thanks again for the prompt response.

    Rob
