    Dear Friends,
My Experience With Vista-release Candidate 1 Showed That It Does Not Support My Viewsonic Airpanel V.150. Can Anybody Suggest A Solution?

    Of course not!

That doesn't meet Vista's minimum requirements.

    Dear Arie,
I don't understand your reply. My present OS is Windows Professional XP and I have no problems using the Viewsonic Airpnel V150. When I tried the Vista Release Candidate 1 I could not connect to my Airpanel. I should add that I had to disable the Firewall builtin SP2( I rely on my router's firewall instead).

I'm not at all familiar with what you have there but from what I've found about it, I'm assuming it's some sort of portable PC. If this is correct, how are you trying to connect to your PC with it? Is it a wireless connection, USB or what? If it's a wireless connection I don't think it would be Vista that's not compatible with your Airpanel. More than likely Vista's not compatible with the wireless NIC you have installed in the Vista computer. Or, it may be that you need to install drivers for it if they are available for your particular NIC.

So, if you're trying to connect to it with a wireless connection, see if there's drivers available for Vista from the manufacturer of your wireless card.

How about software? Is there any software that needs to be installed on the Vista computer to be able to connect to the Airpanel? If so, then it may be that the software isn't compatible with Vista. So, check to see if there's an update available for that too. If this is an older device, it may very well be that there is none available. If so, you're probably out of luck.

Is it possible the router is blocking the connection?

    :) :)
    dear friends,
Yes, it is Viewsonic Wireless Smart Display which is bynow 6 years old. I had at first the same difficulty of not being able to connect it to my computer but I overcame the problem when I disabled the builtin Firewall of SP2. Is there a possibility to disable the Vista's Firewall?

    Hello gavishi,

Start > Control Panel > Security Center > Windows Firewall > Turn WF on or off.

Not much different from XP, just follow the "signs" :)
