Outlook Express/IE6 currently blocks lots of incoming email pictures/graphics unless you click on the message bar at the top of the email. Is there somewhere a list where you can identify the "allowed" sites so I don't have to click on the bar each time to allow the pictures?

    Hi robls99,
I'll assume you mean OE not IE so this past post should have the fix you seek. Its a security setting in OE that needs an adjustment. Please remember to use good common sense and precautions before downloading or opening email. This security setting was meant for your protection. That said, here ya' go:

    Ann,

Thanks for the help but that wasn't quite what I was looking for (I corrected the above to Outlook Express/IE6 as you correctly guessed).

Because the pictures are normally blocked for a very good security reason (imbedded spyware etc.) I have no intention of turning off this function.

I was looking for some way to selectively create an "allow" list similar to what OE has for cookies, so I could allow "trusted" sites to come thru unhindered.

I'll assume it can't be done but since MS does it for cookies, they certainly could do it for pictures.

I don't know for sure if this will help but I'd try adding those sites to Internet Explorer's "trusted sites" in the security part of the options. OE relies on IE in many ways. This may be one of them.

    Zander,

Thanks for the tip. For some reason Trusted Sites requires you to enter all url's as https: and the sites I am interested in are not secured sites.

I going to try it anyhow and see if it works.

When you enter the site to the trusted sites, uncheck the line that says "require server verification....." before clicking the add button. This will allow you to enter whatever site you want to add.
