I bought Works 8 a while back because I did not get a word processor with a computer I had built locally. I found out right away that you cannot make labels with the program and import or drop clip art on a label which is a feature I used extensively in a previous version. (4.5 or 5) I contacted Microsoft support and first they told me how to do it. I had already tried the procedure they offered. I wrote back and told them cordially-- "You try it ". They did and after a period of time wrote back and acknowledged you couldn't do it and indicated they would bring the matter to the attention of their software developers. More recently, I note that when I click to create a new document and I put my email address in a letter heading--when I type:
bsilverfox@comcast.net it invariably turns up on the document as:
Silverrod@comcast.net Via trial and error I found if I highlight Silverrod and carefully and slowly type in bsilverfox it will take but it is a nuisance. I find it interesting that "8" has been around so long. I would hope 9 will be improved but I won't be shelling out the bucks to find out until I have an opportunity to try it out somewhere. I don't think the program is a very god value for the money in its present form.

Have you tried open office.org? It's free and looks like it does Avery labels. I have not used it for that but it has the stuff in it. Link.

Thanks, Bill, I'll give it a try. I am using Avery software now but I don't like it as well as the old Works I was used to. Of course that could be because the Avery program is more sophisticated and I just don't get all the ins and outs.
    :)
