Can you clarify: is the a way of connecting a PC to the router that does allow the PC to connect to the internet?

What I am getting at is that to start with we need to know whether the problem is that the router cannot connect to your ISP, or that there is something stopping part of the network connecting to the internet through the PC. In other words whether the problem is between the router and your ISP or your router and your computers.

    Dlink Router Networking Setup

    Several quick diagnostic questions.
Have you set up the router ?
You have to go into the control panel and go through a setup routine.
If it is a dsl connection you have to enter account name and password as well as tell it to log on.
Setup the wireless - ssid , bandtype (mixed or g only)
    encryption later if you wish.
Reset the router to factory defaults by holding the reset button with a pin while the router is powered on for 20 seconds or more.
Unplug your broadband router. Wait a period of time. Plug back in.
    Let it reset.
To enter the router web based control panel.
    http://192.168.0.1
use admin , password admin ( usually).
If having trouble call Dlink tech support toll free.
Not one of my preferred brands but good tech support.
    Start here.
