I have my files set to Display Thumbnails and all folders are displaying thumbnails as they should.
But every time I Attach Files I have to reset to "Thumbnails" from "List Details"
    See My Screen shot.

This wasn't happening until last month when I installed a image editing program... I didn't like the program so I uninstalled it.

Anyone have a suggestion on getting things back like it was before I tried the editing software? I've been to Folder Options in Control Panel but didn't find anything there that would do it.

You may have exceeded the view limits setting of XP.

You can increase that setting by running a .reg file from here.

There are several other things on that site that may be of use to you someday. The main site is Kellys-Korner and the link I posted above is listed on line 2 there.

    surferdude2,

I've never used a REG File, so I'll give this some though. I'm a little cautious.

    Thanks for your help.

It's a good idea to be cautious. Here's some further reading on that since it's not easy to find.

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=bags8000&btnG=Search

I can assure you that the process is safe and that the source site is absolutely trustworthy. I can't assure you that it will fix your problem but it will not do any harm to apply it in any case.

If you decide to do it, all that is necessary is to download the .reg file and double click on it. You'll be asked if you want to merge the data into your Registry. Allow it and the deed will be done.

BTW, if you have TweakUI, it will do the job for you and even allow incremental selection of the maximum value. Then of course you can revert back to the default if you want. Look under Explorer > Customizations.

In all cases, I would recommend rebooting to be sure the change is properly read by the system.

    Sorry, I didn't post sooner.

I liked your ideal about using TweakUI.

I installed it and increased folders from 400 to 8000, rebooted and it made no difference. So I changed it back to 400.

I think it has something to do with installing Paint Shop Pro X upgrade to X1. I didn't like the upgrade so I uninstalled it. After that is when the folder problem started. I've checked PSPX Preferences but can't find anything that has to do with thumbnails in folders.

    Thanks for your suggestion.
