I've been trying to get the Windows Time Service to work in a 2003 Active Directory domain. Even trying just with a XP workstation I get the same results as the domain controllers. Using the MS KB816042 and KB314054 as guides to this configuration.

I'm making assumptions with these articles are requesting the registry changes should be in decimal for numeric values. Reading these articles it almost should work without making these registry changes, but no luck with getting the authoritative time server to work even from the PDC. The UDP port 123 is open for SNTP, but the workstations shouldn't need that to work with the DC. XP Workstations should be automatically using the DC when added to the domain, but that is not happening. All the servers and workstation are located in the same subnet. We have two DC running in the domain.

This is what is happening when attempting to sync the workstation or DC:
    D:\>w32tm /resync /rediscover
Sending resync command to local computer...
The computer did not resync because no time data was available.

If you run the W32tm /register. It also makes changes to the registry. Should you be making the registry changes through regedit or with W32tm command line?

    Any suggestions?
