Cannot mirror monitors in Vista Home Premium (upgrade version)

The day before yesterday I tried to setup a computer at work with mirrored monitors. We were going from XPPro to Vista Home Premium (clean install required) Both monitors were hooked up during setup.

Once setup completed - the desktop was extended to the second monitor. The "Help" topics stated that the default was "mirrored desktops" (not extended desktop). Messing with the settings did not allow us to mirror the desktop. From what I was able to see, there is no way to mirror the desktop unless you're installing a new monitor (and the second monitor is a 40" LCD!)

Tried disconnecting the 2nd monitor, deleting it from the devices in Device Manager and rebooting. Then reconnected the 2nd monitor and it was back in place with the same "extended desktop "

Any clues on how to make this "thing" mirror the desktop?

FWIW - we did find a workaround today. The latest nVidia drivers are Vista certified, and installing the nVidia Control Panel let's you set the option in there. Still, it's a bit disappointing to have to use another application when the capability is supposedly built into Vista.
