HI All, i just recently started using vetrillo (with a headphone/mic combo) and i was wondering is there anyway to make it so all the sounds i make do not come through my headset? for example, typing and breathing. i tried re-adjusting the mic further away from my mouth, but then the other party has a hard time hearing what i am saying. when its too close, the sound of my voice and my surroundings drown out the game sounds and almost breaks my ear drums.

    thanks Brad

Hey Blade, this is actually a very common gaming question and one that I've even asked myself. Whatever sound card you're using, you need to go into into its "control panel" (whatever that may look like) and find your microphone. Usually, you will see a set of volume sliders and one will be labelled "Microphone ". Hopefully, you will see a little check box under the slider that says "Mute ". Check that box to mute your microphone.

This will prevent you from hearing your own voice but still allowing others to hear you through Ventrilo. I recently had to do this with a new X-Fi XtremeGamer card. I also had to figure out how to make the Flexi-jack become a microphone jack. Had zero instructions to work with. I just clicked everything till I got it set up right.

See Arie - we need a Gaming forum! ;)

Just for future reference. Double click the speaker icon by the clock. Put a check in the mute box under mic. That should get you there. ;)

Blade another thing is set a talk key in vent. Then when you are playing no one can hear you breath or anything. Hold down your talk key and you can talk up a storm :D

A press-to-talk key is an option if you don't want to use "voice-activated" but it wouldn't help Blade's problem of hearing his own voice through the speakers.

When you hear yourself talk through your own speakers it makes it impossible to play as it drives you absolutely nuts!
