Is there any way to turn off the autorun feature of CDs so that it does not run automatically when put in the drive.
Actually I burnt a DVD containing softwares for archival purpose. I manually created an autorun.inf file to make autorun one of the softwares. Now due to some reason the system doesn't get access to that file and keeps on trying to run that file which was written in the autorun file and so the drive remains busy getting me unable to access any of the files in that DVD.
Is there any way to stop that and getting me access to the files?

Windows Explorer->right click on the DVD Drive and select Properties->AutoPlay tab.

    Thanks for your reply.
I tried it but it doesn't make any difference. Is there any other way? My OS is Win XP.
    Thanks.

Tweak UI also doesn't solve. The autoplay is on its way. I also changed the registry key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\CdRom]
"Autorun "= "0" which was set as 1 originally but still there is no change ( I did it before installing Tweak UI).
The primary boot device in my system is CD drive, changing it to Hard drive or floppy drive can make any change?
I tried another autoplay enabled disc, this time there was no autoplay and in "my computer ", I could see only the name and icon of the disc, but there was no autoplay, as was expected. But when I put my defective DVD again in this drive, the problem was continued. The drive was constantly busy and I could not do anything with my DVD.
    Thanks.

Until you find the answer, put the DVD in the drive and then press and hold the shift key. This should keep it from auto running. Be patient and keep the key held down until you see the light quit flashing on the drive. Then, go to My Computer and right click on the drive and select Explore. If you double click it, open may be the default and I think it'll probably do the autorun thing if that's the case. Then you'll be stuck again. ;)

If you can get at it this way, you could copy the contents to another DVD, leaving out the autorun file.
