I have recently formatted one of 3 of my computers 2 of which are wireless and 1 wired. What has seemed to happen is I have added all 3 to the same renamed work group and I can see all computers but the newly formatted one but it can see all others. This would not be a huge deal but it is sharing all printers. I can ping the cpu in question by ip and cpu name.By the way the hard wired cpu is the problem one. It seems like it is something simple but I just cant get it.

I have tried numerous things ,enable file and print sharing, adding guest account ,checking RestrictAnonymous is at 0,and disabling firewalls. Please help!!!!!!

    ok.

Start by giving all of them a static IP address [sometimes helps sometimes not].
Remove all other protocols from network except TCP/IP. Also remove QoS. Reboot. Report back.

Can you see the wired computer when you enter \\computer name in command prompt ?

If you can, goto Network Neighborhood of wireless computers & delete ALL the computers/share from both of them. Goto View Workgroup & try from there.

    How about accessing it with:

    \\IPAddress

Where IPAddress is the IP address of the problem PC. E.g. \\192.168.0.44

    Does that work?

Check if NetBIOS is enabled in network adaptor [Network Place->LAN Connection->Advance]. NetBIOS is required for Windows to find the name of the computers on the network unless you are running WINS or DNS.

I enabled net-bios still nothing tried to access by typing //192.168.1.103 and got this error message maybe this will help

\\192.168.1.103 is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

Logon failure:the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer.

Is the user name same on all the three computers? It seems that the username on wired computer is different from the other 2 & so you are running into this problem.

When you go to Network Neighbourhood, can you see a link or object labelled "Entire Network ". If so have you tried drilling into this?
