I have been running Ad-aware for about a year now and there is something about it that puzzles my feeble mind. When it runs why does it run a different number of 'processes' almost every time? I have seen as many as 22 running and as few as 14 or 15. All with the same version (now 5.83) and the same signature file (now 032-23-06-2002). What gives?

I'm  so make it simple, please.

    Thanks,
    Mike

indutch - I see the same thing. I , In my less than beginner state see it as to how many programs you have running at the time. I may be right or wrong but sure someone will correct if wrong. :D

    Exactly bobmc32.

Programs start one (or maybe 2) processes. There are also some system-created processes running.

Ad-aware checks all these to try to ID any that are background processes fired off by spyware apps.
