    It seems like a great idea for browsers and email clients. For an avid surfers like me, it may be all I need. No more dealing with different anti softwares( anitvirus, antispyware, antiadware ) or even regcleaners or firewall. Well, am I right or not?

    An example is sandboxie, and it is a free ware. I am waiting for your comments before I start to use it on my computer. :cool:

    sandboxie.ini

    Sandboxie seems to run fine except I can make the recovery to work. The files I downloaded were there but when I turned on the recovery folder, it said nothing found. Here is my sandboxie.ini:

    BoxRootFolder=%AppData%
    AlertProcess=firefox.exe
    HarddiskVolume=C:
    [DefaultBox]
    Enabled=yes
    CopyLimitKb=200000
    OpenFilePath=firefox.exe,%AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\esxnlcyw.default\bookmarks.html
    OpenKeyPath=firefox.exe,HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Mozilla
    OpenKeyPath=firefox.exe,HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mozilla
    # LingerProcess=acrord32.exe
    # LingerProcess=jusched.exe
    AutoDelete=yes
    RecoverFolder=%Personal%
    RecoverFolder=SBdownloads
    ClosedFilePath=!firefox.exe,%Cookies%
    ClosedKeyPath=!firefox.exe,HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Mozilla
    ClosedKeyPath=!firefox.exe,HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mozilla

    If you care to give your comments, they would be greatly appreciated. :cool:

    Just a general comment; I'll leave the specific comments to your question to others more qualified.

    It seems to me that programs like Sandboxie are unnecessary for those who take reasonable precautions. By that I mean, folks who keep their AV and anti-spyware updated and run weekly scans, who run a firewall that both blocks incoming and outgoing packets and who use common sense in where they surf on the web (i.e. do NOT go to **** sites) and in what they choose to download and open (by way of their browsers and email clients)... that these folks should be reasonably secure on the web. I just don't want to complicate my life anymore than it already is. ;)

    re: recover files in sandboxie

    Actually, I kind of agree with James. I almost always run win2k pro from a restricted user account and my firefox is set to delete all cookies and cache. So far, firefox runs well and after each run ccleaner only needed to clean less than 100kb ( instead of 50mb ).

    Sandboxie is still under development, I just found out that the feature in question (recovery files) is not yet completed. One great value of sandboxie is to to let you know if a website is doing behind your back, just look at the contents of the sandbox. :cool:
