Having to log in to get wireless connection

I have a wireless connection coming from my computer but it drops unless a user is logged on to the computer. How can I change it so that it works without having to log on a user?

 

Without a user log on to the computer, how do you use it? - What system do you have?

 

I have windows XP. When a user is not logged into the computer I am at the welcome screen with a list of users and when you click on one and enter a password you are sent to that users profile. I wasn't clear with my first post what I meant to say was the wireless connection my computer sends out drops.

 

Help someone!!! If I don't get this done soon I might fail a few classes
