Double click on that yellow icon with the exclamation mark and it will tell you its purpose. It could be something simple like a mailbox notification.

Also, it could be the Winfixer virus - does it prompt you about Critical Security Issues?

seem like it was a IE7 problem, uninstalled it, installed Firefox instead, and it didn't give me any yellow triangle, nor scandisk when rebooting.

That's great. Now join me in waiting for the bugs to work out of IE7 before taking it on as a quality control project for MS. ;)

i was a IE fan....and then this stupid bug/issue got in the way, and now i'm using Firefox instead, it's slightly different than IE, and i think they still need to fix things in it, it's working fine in the overall, but it won't cause that $MFT error!

to change the lyrics of Milli Vanilli: Blame it on IE!

i think Microsoft ***** for bug reports, there's no way to report it...i checked, and didn't found a way to do it.

ok i noticed my MSN Messenger, everytime i connect, it opens a window of one of my contacts, and it's always the same message

that contact sent that message when i was rebooting the computer, i think.

do you know how i could fix that?

i'll see if it'll still do that tomorrow...

    another problem, same message...

ok now i got this problem again, but caused differently

i bought McAfee VirusScan Plus recently, and decided to uninstall my previous version (with the McAfee MCPR special program we can download on their website)

then i installed VirusScan Plus, updated....

and now when i reboot, it always do a scandisk, but this time without having the yellow triangle with "!" in my task bar.

when i check "Eventvwr ", the event get a "X ", and when i check for the Winlogon event when the scandisk started, here's what it gives me (messages in french):

note that i noticed Mozilla Thunderbird seem to get "unstable" after a while...i wonder why, it wasn't doing this before.

the number "22" in "Nettoyage en cours de 22 entrées..." seem to change everytime it do a scandisk, previous Winlogon was 23, previous is 24, previous is 38...
