SimpleShare error code 53 solution

A user posted a question in an earlier thread, now expired, concerning receiving error code 53 when trying to map a drive to a share on a SimpleShare NAS unit. The advice on the SimpleTech site to disable firewalls didn't help.

The solution to the error 53 problem on my system was to disable the SimpleShare printer pool until I mapped the drive. I found this thanks to the person who got through to a knowledgeable tech support person at SimpleTech, and posted a review at NewEgg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/CustratingReview.asp?item=N82E16822154326

It hadn't expired. A search for "SimpleShare" found it. Search will find many old postings will a lot of useful information, so is always worth trying. I'll add a link in it back to this thread.
