I am running a Dell Dimension 8250 computer with Win XP Pro.

Can some one tell me how to stop the "Dell Support" program from running at Start-up? I checked all the items that were checked in the start-up section of the System Configurations Utility and I couldn’t find anything relating to Dell Support. I also checked the Taskbar & Start Menu Programs and saw nothing there.

I know I could remove it completely in the Add & Remove section but I read somewhere that it is a good idea to leave it as it may be useful if I have problems and want to talk to the Dell people.

    Help please.

    Go to start
    Click run
    Type Msconfig
    Click the startup tab
    Click disable all.

Restar your computer and it will turn on all the things that need to be started up when you turn your computer on, might stop it.

Thank you usama that did the trick--I D/L the utility found the Dell support block, unchecked it, rebooted and it doesn't show no more in the Taskbar.

NOWWW--there was a TON of info in that utility--how do I open it again without going through the process of D/L it?

    Thanks again.

    Hello Paul,

The .zip contains .exe's. Right click on autoruns.exe > copy > paste to the Desktop or to any other location from where you access your on demand applications.

I've modified your thread title to indicate what it is you're asking about Dell Support.

    Regards - Charles
