    Does rebooting help?

How-when and where are you getting the error?

A VXD problem is, in my experience, related to a graphics driver problem.

Look up the specifications for your system at the IBM/Lenovo website (or check in the User Guide/manual if you have it). If it has (most likely) an Intel chipset, go to the Intel website and find the updated "Intel chipset software update utility" for your system, there will one dated 2004.

After you have installed that, if the problems continue, find any updates for the Display Adapter/VGA drivers/Graphics at the IBM website (unless the graphics have been upgraded from the original).

See if the file MPFBOCKS exists on your system...put it in Start -> Find. Right-click on the file and select Properties. If you can see what program it is, reinstall the program that installed it...or...if you don't need that program, uninstall it.
...Just did a search, looks like some promising information:
    http://au.search.yahoo.com/search?ei=UTF-8&fr=oze&fr2=sfp&p=MPFBOCKS&meta=atw

I will leave it up to you to do the "hard slog ". You will get to bump your experience up to intermediate if you do not rely on others giving you step by step procedures :) Of course, post back with any questions.

    Matt

From what I find doing a Google search, it's problem related to McAfee's firewall. Do you have it installed?

Some have luck getting rid of the error by uninstalling and reinstalling the firewall. One person had to uninstall everything that belonged to McAfee. For some, that doesn't work though. I saw one post where the person had to uninstall McAfee, reinstall Windows and then install McAfee again to get rid of it. Some of these are from several years ago but from what I see, there still doesn't seem to be a definite answer as to how to fix it other than to try what I stated above or switch to a different firewall.
