    I have a Windows XP computer and I am planning to purchase a brand new Windows XP computer. Can any one tell me specifically how to transfer all my Favorites intact from my old computer to my new computer and place them in the Favorites tab in my new computer? Thank you very much.

    In the menu bar > File > Export/Import > follow the instructions to export Favorites to file (*.htm). On the new computer, do the reverse and import the Favorites.

    To Christer: Thank you for your message. I followed your suggestion but I cannot put the information on a CD-RW disk. Please advise. Thank you.

    The file is by default named bookmark.htm and is by default saved in C:\My Documents. Use your normal CD burning software and burn that file to CD.

    Another way to transfer the Favorites:

    In Windows Explorer;

    - create the folder C:\My Documents\TransferFavorites

    - go to C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Favorites

    - with the Favorites folder high lighted in the left hand pane, copy the contents of the folder (not the Favorites folder itself) to C:\My Documents\TransferFavorites

    - delete the file C:\My Documents\TransferFavorites\Desktop.ini

    - in your burner program, burn the folder C:\My Documents\TransferFavorites to CD or DVD

    - on the new computer, copy the contents of D:\TransferFavorites to C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Favorites where D: is the drive letter for the CD/DVD drive

    In Windows Explorer, high light (click on) the My Documents folder in the left hand pane. Right-click (right mouse button) anywhere on a white area in the right hand pane > New > Folder. The created folder will have the name blinking, type in: TransferFavorites > click anywhere outside the folder (on a white area).
